FDA Raids Illegal Curd Unit in Mapusa, Imposes ₹20,000 Fine and Orders Closure

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) conducted a raid on a curd-making unit operating illegally from a rented room at Gausa Waddo, Mapusa. Officials revealed that the unit had been running for the past two to three years without the mandatory licence.

The unlicensed facility was producing curd and packing it in plastic containers for distribution to hotels, shops, and restaurants across Tiswadi, Bardez, and Pernem.

During the raid, the FDA imposed a fine of ₹20,000 and directed that the premises be vacated immediately, bringing the operation to a halt.
