A fire broke out at around 1:40 am on Friday, engulfing a paint godown in Porvorim. Owned by Narayan Mandrekar, the shop located in Kalpakaru Apartment suffered significant losses estimated at around Rs 50 thousand. The inventory included paint mixing machines, empty paint cans, and various materials, all of which were consumed by the flames.
Upon receiving the distress call, the Porvorim Fire Brigade, led by Damodar Pednekar, swiftly responded to the incident. Constable Sandeep Naik and his team, along with additional support from Mapusa office personnel, worked tirelessly to bring the fire under control. The Povorim police conducted a thorough panchnama of the incident, while investigations into the cause of the fire are still ongoing.
