Strongly opposing the bail application by the minister’s OSD in the High Court, Goa Police have raised suspicions about the firm Bresources Management S.A, run by former tourism minister Mickky Pacheco, wherein Nadia Torrado worked as Accounts Co-ordinator.
The reply filed by Crime Branch before Goa Bench of Bombay High Court, has mentioned that the business was to ‘cover something’.
“There was no formal and structural functioning. Everything seemed to be working in a personal fiefdom of Pacheco. There were no meetings and decision of the Board of Directors,” the reply reads.
“The activities of the company are very suspicious and seems to be ‘cover’ for something else,” police added in their reply.
The investigations by Crime Branch have revealed that Nadia was the part of Pacheco’s company, Bresources Management Pvt Ltd.
“Even though the deceased (Nadia), was an employee coordinator of his office, she never came to the office,” police said.
Claiming that Nadia and Pacheco had ‘intimate relationship,’ Police have said that they have recovered a half burnt boarding pass which claims Nadia as ‘VIP/spouse of touris…’ Further letters on this pass are burnt.
“Pacheco was the person who was present with the victim at all time during the treatment,” police said adding “he was present at Apollo Hospital, Margao, Jupiter Hospital, Mumbai and Apollo Hospital at Chennai and was closely monitoring visit of police officer and other persons”.
From the conduct, it is clear that he is an accused involved in this offence,” police said.
Police ‘reply’ before the High Court on Monday has strongly opposed the anticipatory bail plea of Lyndon Monteiro, OSD to Pacheco and co-accused in case of death of 28-year-old Nadia.
Monteiro’s plea that the case is politically motivated, is been denied by Crime Branch.
Police said that this is a very sensitive matter wherein a young woman has died in very suspicious and mysterious circumstances.
“On the contrary, Monteiro being in very powerful position is hell bent on impending the investigations and creating hurdles in the efforts of police to unravel the truth,” Crime Branch said opposing the anticipatory bail plea filed by Monteiro.
“There has been systematic and sustained destruction of evidence and it appears that Mickky Pacheco and his OSD may have a very important role to play in destruction of evidence,” police said adding “there is every possibility that the applicant may further indulge in destruction of whatever evidence police is trying hard to retrieve. He is required for custodial interrogation for recovery of two mobiles, passport, laptop of the victim and empty Ratol paste tube, which are missing.”
Police have said that taking in view the statements of the witnesses, PM reports, circumstantial and scientific evidences, it is clear that Monteiro has been involved in the crime and is evading his arrest.
