VASCO: Vasco police have arrested five youth for theft of valuables worth Rs 3 lakh from two and four-wheelers.
Vasco Police Inspector Nilesh Rane said that all the five arrested are in the age group of 18 and 20.
According to PI Rane, Ravi Harijan (19) and Manjunath Harijan (20) from Shantinagar, Vasco, allegedly broke the rear windscreen of a car and stole valuables. The duo has been booked under Section 379 r/w 34 of IPC.
In another similar case, three youth were arrested for allegedly stealing valuables from the storage compartments of scooters.
The arrested are identified as Aman Memon (19) from Sasmollem Baina, Sunil Harijan (19) from Baina and Mohammad Rafiq (21) from Baina.
Police have recovered from the accused a laptop, an iPhone, three Samsung smart phones, a wrist watch and some documents.
All the five have been remanded in police custody for five days.
