SANGUEM: The residents of Ambdoi and Neturlim have urged the PWD (Roads and Bridges) for the immediate construction of several side pillars for the foot bridge at Nondurlem Sanguem.
On account of the damaged side pillars, the vehicle riders particularly four wheeler riders are finding it difficult to use the bridge, said the villagers.
It is pertinent to note that being a foot bridge, the width of the bridge is just sufficient for one small vehicle to pass at a time and the side pillars are used by the vehicle riders to judge the width of the bridge.
However with several pillars damaged and authorities paying no heed to reconstructing it, villagers have urged the authorities to conduct immediate reconstruction of the damaged pillars for the safety of the vehicle riders particularly at night.
Meanwhile, the villagers residing at Orcotto Sanguem have called upon the PWD to repair the road at several places at Orcotto where individuals have cut the road for laying domestic water pipelines.
Though the PWD authorities charge the people for the road digging, the authorities are not getting the road repaired after laying the water pipeline.
Several such road digging works were undertaken at Orcotto which puts the lives of two wheeler riders in danger.
