FOOTBALLER-MLAS: An exhibition match was played between BJP MLAs and MLAs supporting the government and the Tivim BJP Mandal at Tivim on Tuesday. The MLAs team included Avertano Furtado (Navelim), Benjamin Silva (Velim), Ganesh Gaonkar (Sanvordem), Kiran Kandolkar (Tivim) and Michael Lobo (Calangute). Benjamin scored a goal and goalkeeper, Avertano, saved a goal, but could not stop Bitlo of the Tivim BJP Mandal from equalising 1-1. During the penalty shootout after full-time, the MLAs won 2-1 with Michael and Benjamin scoring, while Bitlo scored for the Tivim BJP Mandal. Avertano saved two penalty shoot-outs.
