Forensic report submitted
HERALD REPORTER
MARGAO, DEC 8
The expert opinion report from the Central Forensic laboratory, Hyderabad has been submitted in the South Goa Sessions court in the Russian woman rape case allegedly involving John Fernandes.
The report has been submitted to the court on Tuesday. With the prosecution submitting the report to the court, the Russian woman is expected to be summoned once again in the court for identification of the mudemmal property.
Sources in the prosecution said the hearing of the case will come up in the sessions court on December 20, adding that the court may issue summons to the victim woman on that day.
Meanwhile, the Russian female friend of the victim girl has so far not responded to the summons issued by the court for deposition in the case. The court has also not received any report so far stating that she is not available in the state.
Sources said the trial in the rape case has almost come to an end and the receipt of the expert opinion report from CFSL, Hyderabad would only help to expedite the trial.
