Formalin case hearing fixed for July 18

MARGAO: Judicial Magistrate First Class Shilpa Pandit today posted for July 18 hearing of the case filed by a city advocate against people responsible for selling formalin laced fish to Goans as the special public prosecutor called sick.
An application was moved before the court that special public prosecutor Prasad Kirtani was not well and has been advised rest by his doctors and hence it was prayed that the matter be adjourned. Accordingly it is now fixed for July 18.
It may be recalled that on July 13 last year Food and Drugs Administration Official following a tip off tested fish brought to the Margao wholesale fish market from across the State and found traces of formalin in the fish that caused an uproar.
