VALPOI: Four nominations have been filed for the by-election to Ward 3 of Morlem panchayat. The four candidates are Kalpana Kusta Gaonkar, Mohini Mohan Gaonkar, Rukmini Vithal Gaonkar and Vidhya Vinod Sawant. And Vaishali Vaman Gaonkar has withdrawn her nomination.
The election is scheduled on August 20 and voting will be start at 8 am and end at 5 pm. The counting is on August 28, at 8 am in Valpoi Mamlatdar office.
There are 420 voters in this ward, of whom 216 are male and 204 are female.
The Director of Panchayat has declared this ward the as general; earlier, for the June 11 election, it was reserved for OBC women, but no one filed nomination form from ward.
