PANJIM: The State government on Wednesday constituted a two-member inquiry committee to investigate financial and administrative affairs of the Goa Cricket Association (GCA). The committee has been granted time till November 14 to submit its report to the government.
The District Registrar issued the order naming North V T Hadkonkar, BITS Pillani CMO Ragevendra K M and chartered accountant Pradeep Lad on the committee, to investigate into the affairs of the GCA including financial, administrative and other illegalities therein, if any.
The committee will also investigate into the allegations made in the complaints filed by Chandu Lamani, GCA member, on September 22 and by Prasad Phaterpekar and Wayne Fernandes, president and secretary of the Torda Sports Club, on September 23.
“After investigation, the committee shall submit their report to the inspector general on or before November 14,” the order stated.
When contacted, GCA vice president Dr Shekhar Salkar welcomed the government move stating that it will expose those who say that they worked for upliftment of cricket, but instead cheated all the clubs and GCA. “The truth will come out,” he opined.
