PANJIM: The Goa Electronics Limited (GEL), a subsidiary company of EDC Limited will construct a ‘GEL Bhavan’ in land admeasuring 2000 square metres at the Pilerne Industrial Estate for carrying out its software development activities.
The decision was taken during the EDC board of directors meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and EDC chairman Sadanand Shet Tanavade at Porvorim on Thursday.
During the meeting, the board advised GEL to expand its business by taking up the software development work for other State departments, Central government departments and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).
The meeting approved the financial statements of the EDC company for the year 2020-2021. The board appreciated the progress of the Corporation and specially appreciated its positive financial sustainability through the pandemic years.
The company apprised the board on the status of important projects including Bhumija – Ore Tracking and Management System and Goaonline.
