PANJIM: Following the High Court direction to register an FIR in Bismarque Dias death case, the Goans for Goans (GFG) has demanded a sincere investigation into the case.
GFG wants the police to probe the disappearance of the two boys who disappeared for two days prior to the death of Fr Dias and who were with him prior to his death.
GFG has been continuously chasing the death case of Bismarque and have been demanding a thorough probe.
GFG President Kennedy Afonso is also one of the petitioners in the High Court which directed police to register an FIR.
“Since the Court has ordered the Crime Branch to investigate the case after registering it as murder, GFG hopes that the agencies will at least now sincerely carry out proper investigations to get justice and nab the murderers and not go back to the Court after three months with the same old story of death of accidental drowning theory,” Afonso said.
GFG said that the vital questions which were raised during the course of inquiry are still unanswered by the Crime Branch.
He questioned, “The two boys were missing from their house on the November 3 and 4. Where were they? Who was feeding them?”
He said that Crime Branch has not investigated this part as it also becomes a very vital clue in the case.
Afonso also said that there is no clarity on where was Bismarque between 3 pm and 10 pm on the fateful day.
“There was also a contradiction between the statements of two boys and the theory of five villagers who had seen Bismarque at the same time at two different locations, we have told this two the Crime Branch but it was not considered in the inquiry,” he mentioned.
Afonso appealed to Crime Branch to investigate the case wholeheartedly to nab the culprits.
“GFG will be closely monitoring the investigation, and will work closely with the other petitioners, to channelize the investigation of the Crime Branch in the right directions, and ensure all support and cooperation, to ensure that the murderers are caught soon,” Afonso said.
