MARGAO: Goa Forward Party (GFP) president Vijai Sardesai on Monday not only extended support to the Goyant Kollso Naka movement but also joined their bike rally.

When Goyant Kollso Naka rally reached Fatorda, the members submitted a memorandum to GFP president. Activist Freddy Travasso said Vijai has assured them of taking up a joint discussion on the contentions of the movement with his Assembly colleagues. They informed Sardesai that they are ready to give a presentation to anyone at any point in time against the ills of the project.
Sardesai said, “This is a people’s movement and GFP is fully backing the movement. The movement has exposed the covert plan of the Centre and the State BJP Government’s first step of the plan to make Goa a coal and ore corridor”.
“We saw that the spread of COVID-19 virus was strong in Vasco. The connection may be the coal that is handled at the Mormugao Port, the dust of which has made the people’s lungs already weak. Soon, they will create the condition all over Goa,” he warned.
