PONDA: One Sumeda Naik (23) from Bondbag in Bethora suffered serious injuries after she got trapped between a tempo and a car, at Gaunem Bandora on Wednesday morning.
It is learnt that the girl was pillion riding with her friend, when the tempo parked on a slope, from which cement was being off loaded, suddenly came down and hit the two-wheeler on which Sumeda was pillion riding. The victim was thrown between the tempo and a car that was passing at that time.
Sumeda got trapped in the incident between the two vehicles and suffered serious injuries.
The accident resulted in traffic congestion for some time.
On getting information of the accident, Ponda police rushed to the spot, sent the victim to the Goa Medical College and Hospital at Bambolim and conducted panchanama of the accident spot. Ponda police have registered an offence and investigating the case.
