In a tragic mishap, a 10-year-old girl died on the spot after she was knocked down by a jeep at Devnamol-Kalay on Thursday evening.
According to reports, Divya P Naik stood behind a stationary jeep (KA-35-M-3634) by the roadside.
The driver started the jeep and reversed the vehicle, unaware the girl was behind the jeep.
The girl was knocked down and died on the spot.
Curchorem police has detained the driver and another person in this connection, as investigations are in progress.
