PANJIM: In view of the protest by mining dependents scheduled on Monday (March 19), the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) on Sunday informed that HSSC students will be allowed to enter the centre 30 minutes after the examination commences but clarified that as per the rules and Board procedure they will not be given any extra time.
Speaking to Herald, GBSHSE Chairman, Ramkrishna Samant said, “In view of the protest by mining dependents, the board held a meeting with the Traffic Cell on Sunday evening to chalk out a plan so that students answering HSSC examinations are not inconvenienced and reach the hall in time.”
He said, “There is provision wherein we can allow any student to enter the examination premises by a maximum delay of 30 minutes from the scheduled time.”
However, Samant clarified that according to the rules and board procedure, any student arriving late for the examination will not be given extra time.
Meanwhile, the Board has urged parents of the students who are appearing for exams in and around Panjim to start early so as to reach the examination centres/schools well in advance.
