PANJIM: With brooms in their hands, Aam Aadmi Party’s Goa members and supporters danced on the streets of Panjim as the Delhi results showed the party sweeping the Assembly elections. Crackers were lit, victory jingles sung and the boisterous celebrations continued till the Delhi poll’s final results came in.
The party had erected a giant screen in the city to watch the live coverage of the results. The party members and workers later took a rally across Panjim to mark the victory in Delhi.
With AAP’s stupendous success in Delhi, its party leaders in Goa are now confident of replicating the victory in Goa.
“The success of AAP in Delhi will definitely be replicated in the 2017 elections in Goa. The Delhi results are a boost for AAP in Goa,” AAP Goa Convenor Valmiki Naik said.
Naik further said that the party has showcased how elections can be fought without spending money and now it will demonstrate what will be ‘people focused governance’.
“The party is already working on widening its base in the State. We were written off after the Lok Sabha polls. It is not about the party but about what we stand for and the spirit of the Aam Aadmi which you cannot write off under any circumstances,” Naik added.
The other party leaders displayed the same confidence saying BJP and Congress will soon face a humiliating defeat in Goa.
