In view of the prevailing situation and concerns over the supply of essential commodities, the Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Goa has deputed officials to various LPG gas agencies across the state to maintain strict vigilance.
The move comes after the invocation of the Essential Commodities Act 1955, aimed at preventing hoarding, black marketing and ensuring the smooth availability of essential supplies to consumers.

Officials from the department have been stationed at gas agencies to closely monitor the distribution of LPG cylinders and ensure that the supply chain remains uninterrupted across Goa.
Authorities have also warned that strict action will be taken against any agency or individual found violating the provisions of the Essential Commodities Act 1955. The department said the step has been taken as a precautionary measure to maintain orderly distribution and prevent panic among consumers during the current situation.
