PONDA: Goa Dairy in collaboration with National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and Tata Trust provided training to its staff on Thursday.
The staffers were trained in adding Vitamin-A and Vitamin-D to fortified milk. They were trained by Vikram Arora, Nikita and Gatha Raj.
On the occasion, Goa Dairy MD Navso Sawant said that a survey conducted by NDDB has found that Indians suffer from Vitamin A and D deficiency and that milk is a good medium to infuse the vitamins.
“Under an NDDB project, the fortified milk of Goa Dairy would hit Goan market and Goa Dairy would be the first to supply such milk in Goa,” Sawant said.
He informed that the fortified milk would be launched soon and that the customers would not be charged extra as the cost of adding vitamins to milk is just three paisa per litre.
Vikram Arora said that Vitamin-A and D deficiency leads to eye and bone-related ailments.
