Goa Gets Full ₹22.26 Cr Central Allocation Under PM-POSHAN Scheme, Over 1.58 Lakh Students to Benefit

Goa has received its full central allocation of ₹22.26 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman (PM-POSHAN) scheme, popularly known as the mid-day meal programme, for the ongoing academic year.

The allocation is expected to benefit more than 1.58 lakh students across the state, ensuring continued nutritional support for schoolchildren.

Sources said that while the Centre has released its entire share, the Goa government has also disbursed its corresponding contribution on time. In addition, the state will supplement the scheme with extra funds over and above the earmarked amount to further strengthen its implementation.

Officials said timely release of funds from both the Centre and the state will help ensure uninterrupted meals in schools and contribute to improving attendance, retention and overall student health.
