Saket Court in Delhi has granted Goa Police a 36-hour transit remand of Ajay Gupta, an accused in the Goa nightclub fire case that claimed multiple lives, allowing investigators to bring him to Goa for further interrogation and legal formalities. The order marks a significant procedural step in the case, tightening the noose around those allegedly responsible for the tragedy.
During the hearing, the court directed that Ajay Gupta be provided proper medical care while in police custody, noting submissions that he is suffering from certain health issues. Goa Police are expected to complete transit, produce him before the competent court in Goa within the stipulated time, and continue their probe into safety violations and alleged negligence linked to the fire.
