PANJIM: Words of praise and encouragement poured in for ISRO from leaders across the political spectrum in Goa as they urged scientists not to be disheartened following the Chandrayaan2 setback.
Political leaders, including the Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition took to the social media to support ISRO.
Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Saturday said the entire nation is proud of the team at ISRO that worked on Chandrayaan2. He tweeted, “#Chandryaan2 may have faced some challenges, but the entire nation is proud of our team of scientists at @isro who are among few special ones in the world possess the expertise and capabilities to undertake space missions of such great magnitude.”
In another tweet, Sawant said, “The orbiter continues on its journey to explore the moon and take the mission ahead.”
Union Minister for State for Defence and North Goa MP Shripad Naik tweeted saying, “Each failure brings you one step closer to success and this is not even a failure, rather a big step forward. ISRO have made us proud.”
Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat too tweeted, saying, “Aab chand dur nahi (now, the moon is not too far).” He added, “Congratulations ISRO. You have made us proud. This is another new beginning. Salute to our scientists.”
Health Minister Vishwajit Rane tweeted encouraging words for ISRO. “All communication isn’t lost! We are really proud of our team at @ISRO, as they work towards scaling the moment of great success,” he said.
Goa Youth Congress also congratulated ISRO for the successful completion of 95 per cent of the Chandrayaan-2 mission. “You have made billions of hearts beam with pride and those billions of hearts stand behind you firmly for your service to the nation,” they tweeted.
