Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has announced a firm crackdown on hawkers and touts operating along the state’s beaches, stating that stricter action will be taken in the upcoming tourist season to curb such activities.
“We want it stopped,” CM Sawant said, emphasizing the government’s commitment to maintaining discipline and improving the overall experience for tourists visiting the coastal state.

As part of a broader law enforcement push, the Chief Minister also revealed that 12 new cases against known history-sheeters have been reopened. These measures, he said, are aimed at strengthening law and order ahead of the next wave of tourist arrivals.
The government is expected to coordinate with local police, tourism officials, and municipal bodies to implement the new enforcement strategy and ensure that beaches remain safe, clean, and free from unauthorized commercial activity.
