It maybe recalled that the Forum for Rights of Children to Education (FORCE) had issued a clarion call to all the MLAS to make their stand clear on MOI in view of their planned hunger strike and protest march agitation on July 27, the first day of the monsoon assembly.
Besides Saldanha, the three MLAs who support the BJP government, Navelim Independent MLA and Fisheries Minister Avertano Furtado, Velim Independent MLA Benjamin Silva, Benaulim Goa Vikas Party MLA Caitu Silva, and the three opposition MLAs, Fatorda Independent MLA Vijai Sardesai, Curtorim Congress MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco and Margao Congress MLA and former Chief Minister Digambar Kamat promised to take up the MoI issue.
