PANJIM: The State government on Friday announced a non-productivity linked bonus (ad-hoc bonus) to around 48,000 employees, equivalent to 30 days’ emoluments for 2015-16. Government will have to shell out an additional sum of Rs 33.12 crore towards the benefit.
However, non-gazetted employees in Group ‘B’, drawing grade pay of Rs 4600 and above (as on April 1, 2016) and employees in Group ‘C’ are not entitled to the benefit.
The notification signed by Under Secretary Finance Ajit Pawaskar states, “Only those employees who were in service as on March 31, 2016 and have rendered at least six months continuous service during the year 2015-16, will be eligible for payment.”
Sources said there are nearly 68,000 government employees currently working in the administration, of which around 48,000 would be eligible for the bonus. “Each employee will be eligible for a bonus of around Rs 6900,” sources said.
As per rough calculations, the State will have additional burden of Rs 33.12 crore which will be met from within the sanctioned budget provision.
