PANJIM: Amidst the ongoing political drama between BJP and Congress over a split, Independent MLA and Minister Rohan Khaunte said that the Manohar Parrikar-led coalition government is stable.
“In the last eight days there have been several questions on government and political developments. But I have always been saying that the Parrikar government is stable. The coalition is stable,” he said.
“The stability, however, is not going well with some people,” he said, indirectly referring to Congress, which had claimed that MLAs from ruling dispensation are in talks with them to join the party.
Khaunte further said that government and governance is not just about the numbers but is also about what you can do when you are at the helms of affairs. “In last 16 months, I can proudly say that this government has delivered and it has delivered what Goa was looking for,” the Minister stated.
He said that it might be in terms of IT or start-ups, industrial policy or other reforms, all that are seeing the light of day. “What has been kick started will ensure stability for our Goans,” he added.
In the absence of the Chief Minister, who has returned to Goa on Thursday evening, there was speculation of Congress MLAs joining BJP. Congress, however, rubbished the same and claimed that BJP MLAs have contacted them.
