PANJIM: Taking note hundreds of abandoned vehicles occupying precious parking spaces in Panjim and Mapusa, the North Goa Collector has granted 60 days time for the vehicle owners to make their claims, failing which these vehicles would be auctioned.
The office of the North Goa District Magistrate has called upon all persons/owners of abandoned/unattended vehicles found lying in the jurisdiction of Bardez and Tiswadi talukas to submit their claims, if any, to the respective office of the Deputy Collector and Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Bardez, Mapusa and Tiswadi, Panjim, within a period of six months from October 24.
If no objections/claims are received within the stipulated time, the vehicles shall be forfeited in favour of the State government and shall be disposed of by public auction as provided under law. No further claims shall be entertained from anyone and the proceeds shall be forfeited to the State government.
The list of all identified vehicles are available with the office of the Deputy Collector and Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Bardez, Mapusa (for Bardez jurisdiction) and office of the Deputy Collector and Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Tiswadi, Panaji (for Tiswadi jurisdiction).
