GSIA to help Goa Inc tap rooftop solar power

PANJIM: Goa State Industries Association (GSIA) has announced an initiative aimed at fostering sustainability and energy independence within the industrial sector of Goa. 

GSIA is spearheading efforts to educate and handhold industry in accelerated adoption of Rooftop Solar power with the aim to establish an incremental 20 Megawatts (MW) of captive solar power plants across industrial establishments in the State.

With the immediate goal of achieving 20 MW of rooftop solar capacity, GSIA is committed to driving tangible environmental benefits while also advancing the economic interests of the region.

Through its various member outreach programs & media, GSIA has been highlighting the following key points in propagation of this initiative: Historic low solar panel prices; financial incentives for small industries; aggregation of demand for cost reduction; successful prototype model and  rapid payback reriod.
