Recently, the Board had sealed a borewell of United Marine Products and nine others of Sagar Feeds, Quality Food and Indotech.

The GSPCB via GPRS system had detected illegal borewell at United Marine Products, but the owner brought a stay from High Court to restrict the board from inspecting the unit.

Now, the court has allowed the GSPCB to shut all illegal borewells and has directed the owner of United Marine Products to co-operate. The Board has identified 10 illegal borewells at United Marine Products and Quality Foods.

The GSPCB will seal all illegal borewells under Air and Water Act in presence of mamlatdar, officials of WRD, GIDC and Cuncolim Police. PWD will also provide a demolition squad.
