The Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) has withdrawn the work order issued for the beautification and renovation of the Shree Mallikarjun Temple at Avem, Cotigao, in Canacona.
According to an official communication dated July 6, 2026, the corporation revoked the work order with immediate effect. The work order had originally been issued on July 3, 2026, for the proposed renovation and beautification project at the temple.

The withdrawal letter was addressed to the contractor, Allabaksh Mulla of Chimbel, informing him that the earlier work order stands cancelled.
No reasons for the withdrawal have been mentioned in the official communication. It also remains unclear whether the project will be re-tendered or taken up at a later stage.
