PANJIM: Residences and commercial establishments will now have to compulsorily store their waste in green and black bins. This will then be collected by sanitation workers to be segregated.
The government wants the quantity of waste generated every day to be reduced and quoting provisions of the Environment (Protection) Act 1986 and Municipal Solid Waste (Management & Handling) Rule 2000, has asked all residents of apartment, societies, bungalows, row houses, offices, commercial establishment hotels, restaurants and cafeteria to cooperate.
