Conferring Padma Shri to Lobo Sardesai was a befitting tribute to her dedication and sacrifice he said.
“Brave women fought in the country during freedom movement and in Goa, Lobo was in the forefront of that and I bow before her bravery and sacrifice,” Pillai said.
Expressing her gratitude, Lobo Sardesai said, “I am very happy. Though people say I have done a lot but I did not do anything. I did was what came to my lot. This is a great honour for me to have the Governor visit my small house/flat. I am too humble and too small for that. I am so happy that Almighty has not given me evil things but only good things in my life.
