Hanuman Jayanti was celebrated with great religious fervor and devotion across various parts of Goa on Saturday, as devotees gathered at temples to honor the birth of Lord Hanuman, a symbol of strength, devotion, and unwavering faith.
In Vasco, the Hanuman temple at Baina saw a large number of devotees thronging the premises to offer prayers, chant bhajans, and seek the blessings of Lord Hanuman. The temple was beautifully decorated, and the atmosphere was charged with spiritual energy throughout the day.

At the Shri Ramchandra alias Raghunath Sansthan in Gimone, Pilgao, the celebration began in the early hours with an abhishekam (ritual bathing of the idol) performed by the organizers of the recently held Ram Navami festival. A devotee shared, “As every year, we began with a kirtan at 5:30 a.m., followed by the Hanuman Janm Utsav. Devotees received prasadam and tirth, and sought the blessings of Lord Hanuman.”
Similar celebrations were held at the Hanuman temple in Bandekarwada, Morjim (Pernem), where the local community came together for prayer, rituals, and devotional singing.
The festival, which marks the birth of the revered deity, is widely celebrated across India and holds special significance in Goa, where temple traditions continue to thrive amid strong community participation.
