PTI, PANJIM: BJP leader from Haryana and actor Sonali Phogat died of a heart attack in Goa, police said on Tuesday.
Phogat (42), a former Tik Tok star who had also participated in the reality TV show “Bigg Boss”, was on a visit to Goa along with some of her staff members.

On Monday night, she was brought to St Anthony Hospital at Anjuna after she complained of uneasiness.
On Monday, Phogat posted two videos and four images on her Instagram profile showing her in a pink turban.
Director General of Police (DGP) Jaspal Singh told PTI that Phogat complained of uneasiness while she was at ‘Curlies’ restaurant in Anjuna from where she was taken to the hospital. There is no foul play in the case, he said.
“There are no external injury marks on the body,” Singh said, adding that the post-mortem report will reveal the exact cause of the death.
The body was sent to Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) at Bambolim for post-mortem. Forensic experts at the GMCH will conduct the autopsy, Singh said.
Mapusa Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Jivba Dalvi said she was brought dead to the hospital. “Prime facie, the cause of death is established as a heart attack but further medical examination is on,” he said.
A preliminary inquiry revealed that Phogat had arrived in Goa on Monday and was staying in a hotel at Anjuna. Police conducted panchanama and have registered it as a case of unnatural death. Also, statements of the relevant witnesses are being recorded. Anjuna police have written to the Department of Forensic Medicine, GMC for appointing a panel of doctors for conducting a post-mortem examination.

Speaking to a news channel, Sonali’s sister said the politician actress was fine and going out for shooting. She informed them that she will return by August 27th. However, it was yesterday morning (August 22) that she told their mother that she was feeling uneasy after eating food. At night, too, she said there was ‘conspiracy being run behind her, Sonali suspected something had been mixed in her food. Sonali’s sister cried that today morning they were told she is no more. It came as a shock to the whole family. Her sister said, Sonali had said: “Mere pe kuch saazish ho rahi hai…”
