PANJIM, AUG 10
The division bench of Bombay High Court comprising Justice S B Deshmukh and Justice U D Salvi today asked the Chief Secretary of Haryana to appear in person on September 15 for ignoring Goa government communication.
One Prakash Sen, who was sentenced to life imprisonment under 302 of Indian Panel Code (IPC), had appealed before the State Government for transferring himself to Haryana jail.
As such the Goa Government had written official letters to Haryana Government on June 30 for the said recommendation under Section 3 of Transfer of Prisoners Act but there was no reply. Thus the under secretary (Home) Siddhivinayak Naik filed an affidavits before the high court on July 7 which was adjourned for hearing for August 3.
Within this period of time Goa Government had written four reminders to the Haryana Government and is still waiting for the reply.
24-year-old Sen originally belongs from Hitonpura village in Haryana and was currently residing behind St Sebastian Church at Aquem, Margao.
It may be recalled that Sen committed crime and was arrested by Margao police on May 14, 2004 and was later convicted of crime on July 25, 2006.
