The High Court has issued a notice to the Goa government in response to a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed against unauthorized borewell digging and commercial extraction of groundwater in Chimbel.
The petitioner has sought an immediate halt to all such activities and requested the sealing of borewells allegedly operating without permissions. The court has directed the state authorities to respond to the concerns raised in the PIL.
