PANJIM: The High Court of Bombay at Goa on Monday directed the State government to file an action plan within two days on the proposed measures to tackle the potholes.
The court also directed that the action plan be inclusive of a timeline in order to ensure that the execution is not marred by delays.
The division bench is hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) seeking the court’s intervention in the matter as potholed-ridden roads have been causing huge inconvenience to the people.
AAP general secretary Pradeep Padgaonkar, who is the petitioner in the case, has also sought
directions to the authorities to ensure that names of the contractors as well as engineers are displayed at work site. He also urged that the high court monitor the loss of lives and alleged corruption involved besides appointing a commissioner to accept complaints from the people.
