Hinduism under attack: Sabha

President of Hindu Mahasabha Shivaprasad Joshi has stated that the Hindu Dharma is under attack from all sides and has attributed this to the lack of unity among Hindus.
“Idols of Hindu deities are being desecrated and temples looted at regular intervals, but so far the government has not been able to book a culprit,” said Joshi, while addressing the Hindu Sabha organized by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS)at Jivottam Mutt at Porvorim.
“Hindus are not united. The need of the hour, therefore, is that Hindus of all castes and creed should get united to give a fitting reply to those who belittle the Hindu Dharma,” said Joshi.
He also criticised the State government for declaring some age-old temples in the state as illegal in a recent survey. “These temples were built well before the very system of state governance came into existence. The state government should have taken into confidence local temple committees before declaring them as illegal. The Hindu organizations will not allow the government to demolish any age-old temple,” he said.
Commenting on the rise of corruption in the State, Joshi said cases of rape and drug trafficking have become a regular feature.
HJS Convenor Niranjan Chodanker said Mughals have been gloried, while injustice had been done to Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaja in some NCERT history books prescribed by the Government for the school curriculum.
“We will not tolerate false projection of our history. Each and every Hindu should study the Indian History and derive inspiration from the great warriors such as Shivaji Maharaj and fight to protect their Dharma,” said Chodanker.
“To invite the attention of the government against the attacks on Hindu Dharma, the HJS has organized a protest rally in Panjim on August 27 at 3 pm,” he added.
On the occasion, HJS members presented skits and demonstrated the art of self-defence.
