MAPUSA: A house was engulfed in flames at Kitla, Aldona and timely intervention of the fire service personnel stooped the blazes from spreading further. The roof, rooms, cupboards, clothes and other valuable items were damaged and short circuit was assumed to be the reason behind the fire.
The fire services say the losses were pegged at around Rs 95,000 rupees but property worth about 5 lakh was saved from going up in smoke by firefighters.

Mapusa fire services stated that they were alerted about the incident came at around 5 in the evening and the staff led by fire tender’s deputy officer Ashok Parab rushed to the site.
