House pays tribute to Adv Velho

The Goa Assembly on Tuesday paid ric h tribute to Adv Leo Velho, ex-MLA of Goa, Daman and Diu from Navelim Constituency who passed away on July 18, 2010.
The House observed silence to condole the death of Adv Velho who served three terms in Goa assembly, on two occasions as candidate of United Goan and third time he was elected on Indian National Congress ticket.
PWD Minister Churchill Alemao while making obituary reference said late Adv Velho always had a smiling face and he would be remembered for his services to Goans.
Condolence: The House also condoled the untimely death of Dr Sushrut Martins, homeopath and social activist who died on April 30, 2010. Deputy Speaker Mauvin Godinho said people would remember Dr Martins as a selfless Goan who actively participated in many agitations including agitation for Konkani.
Ex-finance minister and Aldona MLA while describing Dr Martins as an exemplary Goan said, death should not have come to him at such an early age. St Cruz MLA said people would always remember him as good human being.
