VALPOI: Villagers from Gaonkar Wada, Honda-Sattari suffered huge losses as the roofs of several houses were damaged due to gusty winds on Tuesday night.
According to locals, on Tuesday night the gusty winds in the village caused massive damage to the roofs of around 15 residents causing a loss of around Rs 20 lakh.
“We urge the Government to provide us with some financial help on account of the damage caused to our houses,” complained Mahadev Gaonkar, a villager.
“We have already informed the Honda panchayat with regards to the damage caused to the roofs following gusty winds. We have suffered a huge loss to the tune of nearly Rs 20 lakh, but the talathi is yet to visit our village for inspection. The official has assured to visit the village on Thursday,” said another villager.
