PONDA: Two cars parked at Savoiverem were damaged in a tree crash causing loss of Rs 1 lakh. Similarly, another tree fell on a rickshaw parked at KTC bus stand causing a loss of Rs 50,000. Nullah water entered a house in Dhavali. Two trees crashed on two houses in separate incidents at Varkhandem and Donshim Bandiwadem respectively.
Ponda fire station received almost 25 emergency calls of tree crashing on houses and along the roads in the Taluka causing massive damage power lines. Fire personnel said they immediately cleared the trees.
