IDC to withdraw cases, FIR against 5 SEZ promoters

IDC has decided to move the Supreme Court against SEZ promoter Maxgrow Finlease and Meditab Specialties, if they don’t agree to hand over the land, which is around 14 lakh sq mtrs.
The Board has also decided to withdraw all the cases including FIRs filed against the five promoters, as approved by the State Cabinet under then Chief Minister the late Manohar Parrikar.
Industries Minister Vishwajit Rane said that directions have been issued to IDC to implement the cabinet decision immediately.
IDC chairman Glen Ticlo said the corporation will send a reminder to both companies asking them to give back the land. “If they don’t respond, then we will go to Supreme Court and inform them, as the land unlock process has been initiated following Supreme Court directions,” he said.
IDC has already taken back land from Inox Mercantile Company (5,20,832 sq mts), Peninsula Pharma Research Centre (2,00,000 sq mtrs), Planetview Mercantile Company (12,36,000sq mtrs), K Raheja & Corporation( 10,59,000 sq mtrs) and Paradigm Logistics & Distribution (3,86,665 sq mtrs).
