Sarpanch Sonia Pedenkar informed that the panchayat had issued demolition notices to all scrapyards on December 28 but only three owners voluntarily cleared the land while others continued to  operate brazenly.

The sarpanch informed that the panchayat has also decided to act against shops and business establishments operating without obtaining licenses.

“We don’t want any illegalities happening here. People are freely doing business but the panchayat doesn’t get a penny from there,” said the sarpanch.

The Sarpanch said that these scrapyards were operating illegally and said that henceforth such illegalities will not be tolerated.

Meanwhile some panch members stated that recently a scrapyard was gutted and the flames spread to a neighbouring field destroying the plantation and added that stolen goods were sold at such nefarious hideouts.
