PONDA: The state government has begun constructing a ramp over the Dudhsagar river to facilitate the movement of all-terrain vehicles at Collem that ferry visitors to the popular waterfall 12 kilometres away.

There are presently only two ways to get to the waterfall – by train or by travelling in an all-terrain vehicle that traverses forest areas and drives through the Dudhsagar river. Although it is risky, the latter is the preferred mode of travel as a train ride involves alighting at the Collem railway station and walking several kilometres to the spot.
The Dudhsagar waterfall is open to tourists from October to May. The visiting period is extended till the second week of June if there is no rainfall.
