MARGAO: Macazana Panchayat member Salvador Fernandes on Monday said that he still continues be a panch as his petition challenging the decision of the lower authorities to delete his name from the electoral roll is pending with the district collector.
Salvador told the media that he has challenged the decision to delete his name from the electoral roll and the matter will come up for hearing later this month.
“Those who think that I am no longer a Panch should think twice. My petition challenging the decision of the lower authority to delete my name from the electoral is pending with the Collector”, he said.
Salvador also termed as false and baseless the reports that he had tried to disrupt the proceedings of the gram sabha of Macazana Panchayat on Sunday.
