PANJIM: India Meteorological Department (IMD), Goa, on Friday issued red colour alert for June 23, forecasting extremely heavy, very heavy and heavy rainfall on that day at isolated places across Goa, while it issued orange alert till June 25 across the State.
“Heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy rainfall, with strong surface winds is very likely at isolated places over North Goa and South Goa districts of the State on June 23,” the IMD said.
For June 24 and 25, 2024, it said that heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy rainfall, with strong surface winds is very likely at isolated places over North Goa and South Goa districts of the State.
It said that the maximum temperature in the State on June 22 will be 31 degree Celsius and from June 23 till 27, the same will be 29 degree Celsius. The minimum temperature on the above dates will hover around between 25 and 24 degree Celsius.
Meanwhile, Mapusa received 1.73 inches of rainfall, Pernem 2.6, Ponda 4.25, Old Goa 1.6, Sanquelim 6.9, Valpoi 10.1, and Sanguem 2.6 inches during the four hours measured at 8.30 am on June 21.
