PANJIM: IT Minister Rohan Khaunte on Saturday said that the government has a 3,000 sq feet incubation centre in place at Panjim which has been given to the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) and will be used for the IT start-ups.
“The Start-up IT policy will definitely land by this month,” Khaunte said. “We are also taking it to institutions to invite curriculum or infrastructure for start-ups at the college level itself. We are also looking at October-November wherein we are looking to get a policy for existing industries and new industries,” he said.
He hinted that the government might have an IT space chalked out in Porvorim for escalators and incubations along with the Tuem and IT parks.
“IT Park will also be cut out into two or three parts. The IT Park will be on the PPP basis but along with that there will be a separate hub for IT start-ups and for expansion of existing industries we are giving them plots or built-up space depending on the type of the requirement the industry needs. The government is looking very widely as far as IT is concerned,” Khaunte said.
