A road rage incident in Indore has sparked widespread outrage after a video showing a man allegedly threatening a family went viral on social media. According to police, the incident took place on April 24 in the Aerodrome area near Bangarda Road, when a minor car collision escalated into a confrontation.
The family, a couple travelling with their two-year-old child, was reportedly stopped by the accused following the collision. What began as a dispute over the accident quickly turned aggressive, with the man allegedly attempting to intimidate them and demand money.
In the video circulating online, the accused can be seen holding a stick and approaching the family’s car in a threatening manner. Despite repeated pleas from the parents, he continues to behave aggressively. The parents can be heard saying, “Car mein bacche hain bhaiya,” as their child cries inside the vehicle. The woman is also seen pleading with folded hands, urging the man to stop, but the situation continues to escalate.
Police have identified the accused as 38-year-old Mangal Sharma. Officials said he allegedly used the minor collision as a pretext to assault and extort the family. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita based on the complaint filed by the victims.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Shrikrishna Lalchandani confirmed that efforts are underway to trace and arrest the accused. Authorities have also urged the public to avoid taking the law into their own hands, especially in situations involving minor accidents.
The incident has once again raised concerns over rising cases of road rage and public safety, with many calling for stricter enforcement and awareness to prevent such confrontations from turning violent.
