PANJIM: Even though many seasonal structures are yet to come up on the beaches, the inspection of shacks, which are ready for operations, will commence from Tuesday.
A team of Tourism Department, Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority and Goa Pollution Control Board will inspect the structures, which have been completed and are ready to start business.
“Inspections will begin from Tuesday. All shacks are not complete. We will inspect those which have already come up based on which a final NOC will be issued granting permission to operate during the tourist season,” an official said.
Last month Tourism Department had granted provisional NOC to nearly 98 percent shack operators to begin erecting the structures. However, only about 40 percent have been able to complete the task and the delay, President of Goa Shack Owners Welfare Society Cruz Cardozo said, is due to heavy rains and shortage of manpower.
